How to Wear Spring's Rainbow Nail Colors

I found this sooo helpful. It tells you what to wear with certain colours. Now I am going to find a bright colour in my collection and paint during my Sunday night show lineup! How to Wear Spring's Rainbow Nail Colors - Spring Beauty Trends 2011 - Beauty - InStyle

Essie Polish Naming Process

Ever wonder how Essie nail polishes get their names?   Essie Weingarten  (Yes,  that  Essie!) sat down with  Fashionista  to explain how she comes up with the brand’s signature labels, like “Jamaica Me Crazy,” “Trophy Wife,” and “My Place or Yours.” “I’ve named every polish up until now,” Weingarten said. “I have creative people help suggest names, and some of them are really good! But in the end, I decide,” she said. “ I think about a moment, or something that inspires me, like a summer vacation. Sometimes it’s an irreverent play on words, a funny story, or theme .  Ultimately, the names have to be memorable.”  The brand’s latest collection includes colors called “Topless & Barefoot,” “Nice is Nice,” and “Kisses & Bises.”  What’s  your  favorite Essie polish? Tell us in the comments! http://news.instyle.com/2011/04/19/essie-nail-polish-names/

Product Review- Benefit Highbeam

So I got addicted to watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians and all the spin-offs, which lead me to become obsessed with contouring and getting amazing cheekbones! I had the darker bronzer to do the shadows so then all I needed was a highlighter. Off I go to Sephora and come across this beauty. I put it on top of my bronzer/blush and it just takes that colour, makes it lighter and brighter, getting my closer and closer to a Kardashian twin. I have started to a tad overboard with my cheeks, I don't know how to explain where this fascination has come from, but I put Cargo's Sunset Beach on my cheeks, nose, chin and temple area, then Nars Orgasm on my cheeks and contour with MAC The Soft Meow and finish off with this highlighter. I even put it under my brow for some highlighting there.  It is fun because the bottle and brush are similar to nail polish so its like actually painting on your face.

Nails- Week of April 20

I know I have been neglectful, but school demanded all my attention. Here is what I have been up to: I painted gold underneath, Guilty Pleasure by Sally Hanson Salon and a  fave colour Soulmate by Essie. I have tonns of polish but I reuse my favourites often. This is free hand, as you can probably tell. Practice makes perfect! This is an oldie but goodie. Its my Sally Hanson and a lilac, I couldn't find a name. $2 at walmart and a breeze to apply. I found these gem stones while cleaning my room so I had to use them right away. I dab clear top coat where I am going to place the gems then take a wooden stick (same I use to clean the edges) dab it lightly with top coat to pick up the rhinestone and plop it on. Once it is semi dry go over the whole nail with top coat!

Hair Tips!

I loooove my hair and taking good care of it is key. I have SUPER thick wavy/frizzy/dry hair. My tips are: Do not wash everyday! Your natural oils are meant to be there, so let them! This will save you time and money in the long run anyway. PS. Hair is easier to style when its got some grease. The trick to not having to wash everyday- train your hair. Honestly. Extend the time between washes once a day.   Day 1- Wash hair Day 2-  Put into a pony tail to hide grease Day 3 - Wash hair Day 4- Style as normal Day 5- Put hair into a style that hides the grease Day 6 - Wash hair Do not blow dry. When I do wash my hair (once every 5-7 days) I wash it at night, blow dry my roots, then go to sleep. In the morning it is a tad more crazy but thats what a flat iron is for! Using to much heat on your hair will hurt it! And you do not want to hurt your hair. I try not to flat iron or curl it everyday and if I do it is quick touchups. Not washing everyday helps this. Good quality produc

Nails - Week of April 4

Image
Its finals time, so all I have time for right now is painting my nails and taking pictures :p  My new colour Jade is the New Black by OPI. I cut my nails a bit shorter for this colour. Any colour that is super dark or bright should be a shorter nails. This is Suzy & the Lifegaurd by OPI. The Konad rip off stamp (Christmas gift) is in Star of the Party by Nicole for OPI. Which is ironic because I did these for a party I hosted. As you can probably tell by now I am OBSESSED with accent nails. The blue is  Turned up Turquoise  by China Glaze - it dried super fast, which is always great. And the red is Lollipop by Essie. I love the contrast in colours and finishes!   Can't Film Fest by Essie. Super cute!
