A Little Sparkle

Image
I love this look because it takes the edge of a sparkley mani. So first I put on the green sparkly polish, then 2 coats of the nude colour. Just diagonal strokes, then smooth it out with vertical strokes. Then of course leave an accent nail if you would like. Base: Simply Smashing Nude Now

Revlon Matte Lipstick

I may be late on this train, but I figure you guys will appreciate me anyway. I began an obsession with matte lipsticks a little while ago, after I had become even more obsessed with lipsticks of all shades and colours. Well, lipsticks in general, I had always been a lip gloss kind of gal until fairly recently. Guess I am growing up. Matte I feel is a showstopper, mainly because it is so unexpected. Everyone is so used to gloss then BAM no gloss -- just a punch of colour. Yes matte lipstick is like a literal punch of colour. With my expensive taste I decided on Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in Carthage.  Why so bright you ask? I love lips now and want to make them the focal point. Sadly, I am still only working part time so I could not justify the $32 price tag of my Nars friend. So I googled drug store brands and found great reviews on Revlon's matte lipstick. Off to Shoppers I went, talked to the cosmetics lady for a bit and after she so graciously answered my burning ques

Just Bitten Revlon Lip Stain review

Image
I tried Cover Girl's lip stain first, and liked it. But then my mom got me Revlon's for Christmas and realized how "OK" it was. Revlon's is fantastic! You put the stain on, wait for 30 seconds then turn it around and there is a balm on the other end you can put on. Of course I put the balm on and love it. I got a darker colour than I usually choose for my lip glosses because it stays on for longer so I don't have to keep touching it up. It is really great for those lazy days I seem to be having more and more of. I put on minimal makeup then just apply this beauty and walk out the door! And of course it leaves me looking like Jessica. Ps. I just noticed that was a dude on the right hand side. I thought it was her reflection their hair is so damn similar. pps. I am not a Ms. Beil fan.

E.O.S. Review

Image
Hey all, A while ago I made a post about the lip "stuff" I use and mentioned that every year at Christmas my mom gets us (my sisters and I) EOS lip balm. (It was a big deal before because they were not available in Canada). I LOVE the lip balm. So my mom is a great Santa Clause and got us the hand lotion as well. SNORE! It does not do anything for me. I can barely feel it. So I guess it is good in a pinch. It is travel size so it is in my purse for do or die occasions. Which worked out well when I needed face lotion. It did not clog my pores! If it is not too expensive maybe consider it for your emergency bag. FYI I have everything in a little emergency bag in my purse. Even a Papyrus thank you card!

Arbonne Lipsticks Review

Image
I love Arbonne products! They are just great, highly pigmented, all natural and your usually buying from a friend, putting money in their pocket. They also come in a sleek black container so it can go with you in your clutch on a night out. When at a friend's Arbonne party, I saw Strawberry and decided I NEEDED it. I find a lot of red colours just not right and this hit the nail on the head for me. Like a savy shopper, I waited until Christmas and added it, along with Coral Reef to my wish list. Well, my mom came through in a big way. She is obviously related to me, because she also got me Bordeaux, which I would have never bought myself because it is so risque but I am excited to try it! These lipsticks are amazing, so smooth, hydrating and as long lasting as most. I am not usually a lipstick girl, so for me to make a fuss about some, is a big deal. These are highly recommended. Bordeaux Eye makeup with this one requires very light, airy, maybe even shimmery. Do NOT do
